Beach baby

We are a beach family. Scotty and I have spent more time at the beach and in the ocean together than anywhere else. Its where we are most content. I spent most of my third trimester at the beach waiting for baby to get here and Scotty and I used to talk about raising our kids in the ocean. When we brought Ellie home from the hospital, we waited 5 days before we took her to the beach. (Don't worry, we didn't stay long) We just couldn't wait to introduce her to our favorite place. She has been several more times since then, but she usually falls asleep and stays in her car seat out of the sun. Well today she got her introduction to the water. Scotty sat with her on the beach and let me surf and get in the water for the first time in months, what a good husband right? When I came in, he begged to take her in the water. I thought it was a little chilly since the sun had just gone behind the clouds but I thought a quick dip wouldn't hurt. Every time he dipped her in she made a mad face but didn't cry. She was more confused than anything. After a few minutes we took her out of the water and quickly put her on dad's warm chest with a towel. Her bottom lip was chattering but then she got the biggest smile on her face. I know she is only 7 weeks, but you should have seen how happy Scotty was to have his little girl in the water with him.
