You signed up for this

Our first big purchase since we got married was a new Nikon D90 camera. It was probably not the most responsible purchase, we really don't have that much money! But what's the fun in being responsible?!? I grew up loving photography but when our house got robbed a year ago, every camera I owned was stolen so I kind of gave up my passion. Scotty knew how important is was for me to pick it back up one day and he bought it as a surprise. I cried when I found out. So we have had so much fun playing with our new toy. BUT last night Scotty came home and we decided to go take some pictures at sunset. We took some pictures at one beach and then decided to go to Hauula bowls to end our photo session. We were in the jeep and pretty close to the sand, long story short Scotty put way to much trust into the jeep thinking it was four wheel drive and could handle sand. Well....it couldn't. We got stuck, bad. I tried to drive while Scotty dug in the sand, he pushed and dug and pushed and dug and nothing happened. Luckily our friends live close by so we walked down the road and got their truck to pull us out. BUT that didn't work either, the jeep managed to get so deep in the sand there was little hope of pulling it out. I was not very happy at this point and Scotty was loving it, so were the other guys, you know how boys get about problem solving and using their trucks. Several attempts, two trucks, lots of sand and lots of help from the drinkers of Hauula we finally got out! Driving home Scotty just laughed at me while I sat with a grouchy look on my face, "You signed up for this!" he said, "you knew what I was when you married me!" I had to laugh and agree, these stories are always fun to look back on. Its an adventure everyday!!

  2. I like that you went out to take pics of the sunset, but the pics you post are of Scotty digging in the sand! :) Did you know the D90 is the camera Jordan used to video your wedding? He loves that camera, but now wants the cannon 7D or the new Nikon D7000 that is soon to be released. Toys, toys! I guess when you use if for work it doesn't make it a toy. :) Glad you are having fun and what a great and sweet wedding gift for you!
