Mothers

Mothers day is this week, I know I am a little early but I have been thinking a lot about parenting lately, mothers especially. I keep thinking about the kind of mother I want to be to our little girl and for some reason becoming a mom doesnt terrify me. I am positive that when we have our baby I will be scared out of my mind but I think I have had such good examples of mothers around me that I know exactly the kind of mom I want to be. My mom is awesome. She is outgoing, selfless and yes those who know her often describe her as loud. She can fill up a room with her stories, and even though we make fun of her sometimes it's something I absolutely love about her. I can talk to my Mom about anything, it's always been that way and growing up I was so grateful that we were friends. We are complete opposites, so even now we have our disagreements but my mom never tried to change who I was. She always encouraged me to be the person I wanted to be and that's something I can't thank her enough for. She always puts our family first, no matter her needs always came last and I wish as kids we would have noticed that more often and thanked her more. But I guess that's what my time now is for, to show my mom how much I appreciated what she did for me and what she taught me. Mom, I love you, you have been a great example of what a mother should be and I hope I can have the relationship we have with my daughter. Happy Mothers day!
