No Jobs

So I went to the career fair at school today  with my friend Cari. We got all dressed up, worked hard on new resumes and put our best serious worker faces on. We got there early signed in and started to walk around. We soon realized that there wasn't many businesses there that we could work for. Accounting firms, hotels, banks, police departments and government agencies. But the only problem is that we have no training in any of these fields! Not to mention we want nothing to do with these fields. Every booth we thought might have some potential turned out to only need technical computer people or mathematicians. Cari and I are both International Cultural Studies majors, emphasizing in communications, and so we are in the same boat when it comes to jobs. We know what we would like to do in the long run but right now, as recent grads we have no idea what we can do! We both kept looking at each other thinking, did we pick the wrong major??? I love ICS, alot! I have a lot of goals and plans for my career but where do I start?

Grad school is always on my mind, and Scotty and I both go back and forth about doing it. I figure after a nice break from school to get our lives more firmly situated we'll go to grad school. But for now........???? I guess we'll see what opportunities come up.

Maybe we'll just have kids right now and I'll just stay home. Right mom????

  2. Ki-NO KIDS YET!! Work first, live life, kids later! You might have to take a job you don't love first, but you will figure it out. Grad school sounds good, but I think you are thinking right in take a break from school for awhile first, then go back. I know it was great for me and helped me better know what I wanted to do!
